Didn’t I get tired to criticise the on and on and ongoing StarWars-O-Mania on the Internet? No, I didn’t. And I do not regret a single word. But the stuff above is different. The three characters have been created only by using classical fonts. If you click on the enlarge option you will be told on each poster which original typefaces were in use. And, most importantly, there is a fine humorous aspect in all three vintage-look-alike posters.

Critics might like to say that things like this have been done before. Yes, it’s true. Take Marilyn Monroe, for example. With her mishandled proportions she looks as if she was nothing but butcher’s best slaughtered daughter. Or this: another Darth-Vader-Not-Nice-Try. Others, however, insist that working with typefaces that way is part of the so-called ASCII art , which is quite popular in e-mails. But here, in this case, they are wrong.

My recommendation: Just enjoy the three posters containing a nicely balanced amount of Italian madness. No doubt, great stuff!

I said it before: I shot the serif but I did not shoot typography. Click on my website link and you will see.
