The only difference between Dalí and a crazyman is that Dalí had better press photos

Salvador Dali Taking His Anteater for a Walk

While walking once more through the famous Internet, this time I was hooked by this crazy photograph of the far not less famous Salvador Dalí. O.K., it has been published almost everywhere on the net but I am still unable to figure out the photographer’s name.

What I learned is that the shot was taken in 1969 in Paris and that the anteater was Dalí’s real pet. On imaginaryfoundation it is explained: His obsession for anteaters supposedly came about as a reaction to the tyrannical André Breton, who was known as ‘le tamanoir’ (‘the anteater’). The 65-year-old Catalan surrealist had the photographer reshoot the picture what seemed like “countless” times until he and the anteater were perfectly composed. A whitness of this scene was later to be quoted: “The only difference between Dalí and a crazyman is that Dalí had better press photos.”

But: Does anybody remember not Vera Lynn but the name of the photographer? If so, please let me know!
