Ich möchte so gerne beim Schlafen essen,
Doch hab ich’s leider beim Schlafen vergessen.

O Holy Stones!

O holy Stones, so strong and sweet:
Give me the strength as you were meat.
As you were power, seed and justice,
As you were fortune, faith and Pastis.
As you were gleaming in my soul,
As you were joining fish and bowl.
As you were secret, key and my account,
As you were you that I once found.
As you were hope and my solution,
As you were thoughtful brain pollution:
So sharp, so tough, so you, you, you:
O holy Stones – my faith in you!

O sole mio, oh mio sol;
Das klingt nach Rio und Atom-Atoll;
Oh mio, oh mio hips:
Das klingt nach Bio und Chio-Chips.

Whitney Houston: «Nose’s Overdoses»

14 Feb

Hey, little Whitney:
You funky, chutney overdose.
I’ve got your smell
In my sober nose;
In my sober nose!

It is screwing like a shell bell
Into my brain
And into my mind!
It is ringing like a shell bell
In the rain;
It makes me so blind!

Hey, little Whitney:
You funky, chutney overdose.
I’ve got your smell
In my sober nose;
In my sober nose!

Raymond Loewy Meets Spike Milligan

1 Mar

Look Sharp, 1933

«Six years after opening his office in New York in 1927, Loewy created this pencil sharpener, which looks as if it might have been designed using a wind tunnel. The pointed shape nicely conveys the purpose of the machine, while still offering a bit of mystery, and even adventure, to anyone brave enough to introduce a pencil into its jet-black lacuna. The warm wooden crank, meanwhile, invites users to interact with a device that, in all other respects, appears to be alien technology.» Quote from LIFE – The Man Who Designed America. An impressive photo collection about an impressive man, compiled by Mark Frauenfelder, the co-founder of BoingBoing.

2B or not 2B
by Spike Milligan

When I was small and five
I found a pencil sharpener alive!
He lay in lonely grasses
Looking for work.
I bought a pencil for him.
He ate and ate until all that was
Left was a pile of wood dust.
It was the happiest pencil sharpener
I ever had.

1933: Away With A Tired Thirsty Face

24 Dec

Click to enlarge happily frozen

Oh, so He changed his tired face:
He’s just the one to win the race.
He is the white, he is the red:
He’s been hard and very sweat.
He gives himself a peaceful go:
He holds upright his own flow.
He is the one who likes a pause:
So, He’s been called Santa Claus.

But what has been? And what will be?
Is there a sense for you and me?
Is there a drink? So soft, so fridge?
Is Santa Claus a snow-white witch?
You better do and find it out!
His brain, so white, so easy cloud,
Erases things like sorrow
‘Cause HE’s the man: tomorrow!
